Family-Sponsored Green Card Categories
The Family-Based First Preference (FB1) category for Worldwide, China and India stalled at January 1, 2005. The Philippines advanced two months in this category, to August 1, 1994, while Mexico advanced by just two weeks, to January 22, 1993.
In the Family 2A category, the cutoff dates for Worldwide, India, China and The Philippines all remained at January 1, 2008, while Mexico stalled at April 1, 2005.
The Family 2B category saw the cutoff dates for Worldwide, India and China remain at April 15, 2003, while Mexico advanced by nine days, to July 1, 1992. The Philippines advanced in this category by 2.5 weeks, to June 1, 1999. However, The Dominican Republic retrogressed in this category by five years and two months, to January 1, 1997.
In the Family-Based Third Preference (FB3) category, Worldwide, India and China stalled at January 1, 2001. The Philippines retrogressed by over eight months, to October 22, 1991. Mexico advanced in this category by one month, to November 22, 1992.
The Family-Based Fourth Preference (FB4) cutoff dates for Worldwide, China and India retrogressed by two years, to January 1, 2000. The FB4 cutoff date for Mexico advanced by 10 days, to January 1, 1996, while The Philippines moved forward by two weeks, to January 15, 1988.
Employment-Sponsored Green Card Categories
The Employment-Based First Preference (EB1) category continues to be current for all countries in the Visa Bulletin for February 2011.
The Employment-Based Second Preference (EB2) category continues to be current for all countries, except India and China. The EB2 cutoff date for China moved forward by nine days, to July 1, 2006, while India remained stalled at May 8, 2006 in this category.
In the Employment-Based Third Preference (EB3) Skilled/Professional Worker category, the cutoff date for Worldwide, The Philippines and The Dominican Republic advanced by 10 days, to April 1, 2005, while the date for China progressed by one week, to January 1, 2004. India moved ahead one week in this category by three weeks, to February 22, 2002.
The EB3 Skilled/Professional Worker cutoff date for Mexico advanced by almost three months, to July 8, 2003.
In the EB3 "Other Worker" category, Worldwide, The Philippines and The Dominican Republic advanced by ten days, to May 1, 2003, while China stalled at April 22, 2003. Mexico moved forward in this category by two weeks, to May 1, 2003, while India advanced by three weeks, to February 22, 2002.
Finally, the EB4 and EB5 categories remain current.
